Volunteer with Shorelake

Shorelake Soccer Club is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization. Thank you to all those who help keep our players out on the field.

We support around 800 players each season, and running a safe, organized, and fun program takes a lot of work. We’ve asked for help in the past, but volunteer turnout has often been low. Without enough volunteers, the load falls on a few dedicated individuals — or we’re forced to pay for outside help, which raises fees for everyone. Volunteering keeps our program affordable and community-driven.

Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to let us know how you would like to help.

Please see our Volunteer Policy if any of these roles look like something you can help with to make rec soccer better while keeping it financially accessible . This year (2025), we are pro-actively asking that everyone find some time to volunteer and help out, something you’ll see on the registration forms.

Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers / Team Parents

No experience is necessary to begin your coaching career. There are numerous resources for training sessions at all age and experience levels available from Shorelake, SYSA, WYS, and US Soccer. Whether you are a head coach or assistant coach, the time you spend working with your players and seeing them develop will be incredibly rewarding.

Team managers are an invaluable resource to coaches and parents. They help with travel arrangements, snack schedules, picture day, city tournament registration, and whatever else is helpful to the team.

For additional information on these positions, see the Coaches and Managers page.

Board of Members

The Shorelake Soccer Club Board of Directors is an all volunteer team working to make the club run. While many Board Members are also coaches, many also look to give back to the club through volunteering on the Board.

Monitors for Regular Activities

We have activities going on regularly every Saturday of the fall season, and we need someone available to answer questions (we’ll give you the FAQ sheet), and help direct people around and make sure someone is equipped to call for help when needed

  • Cedarbrook Field Monitor

  • Tiny Tots Safety Monitor

Event Volunteers

Our club has a lot of events, we need people to staff stations at those events. Events include:

  • Uniform Distribution

  • Photo Day

  • Gear Exchange

  • other special events (like our egg hunt this spring!)
